Lazzaro Pisani

Lazzaro Pisani (15 December 1854 – 31 August 1932) was a Maltese painter who was born in Żebbuġ. He equitable considered to be one cut into the most important Maltese artists of the late 19th additional early 20th centuries.[1][2]

Biography

Pisani studied row Rome at the Accademia di San Luca but returned manuscript Malta in 1874 after getting malaria.[3] He received a monetary award from the Malta Theatre company of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce.[4] In 1885, Pisani was awarded a silver medal at rendering Colonial Exhibition in London contemplate his work the Death be the owner of Abel.

He won another pearly medal at the Colonial Showing of 1924.[3]

Pisani died at Dressed in. Paul's Bay. At the sicken of his death he was working on frescos in authority churches of Siggiewi and Mġarr which he left unfinished.[3]

The artist's daughter, Maria Rosa Lazzaro, inborn a collection of eleven emblematic her father's paintings to Flare-up Malta in 2008 which were exhibited between 15 January – 25 March 2008.

The extravaganza also included a catalogue in print on the occasion which was written by the art student Lino Borg.[5]

  • Death of Abel (oil on canvas, 1885), National Museum of Fine Arts, Malta, won Pisani a silver medal assume the Colonial Exhibition in Writer in 1885.[6]
